The Chamberlain Transport story to success…

Across three generations of the Chamberlain family, Chamberlain Transport Limited has grown in both size and reputation to celebrate more than 65 years in business.

Starting out with just two trucks, the legacy founded by Gerald and Rachel Chamberlain now operates more than 40 vehicles and 60 trailers.
Its vision remains the same as day one – to provide a quality, reliable service enabling customers to perform at their very best.

Today the company looks forward to maintaining our excellent client relationships and building many more, helping a wide range of businesses benefit from exceptional haulage and distribution performance.

Ted joined the business set up by his parents Gerald and Rachel in 1958. Now Chairman, his responsibilities include ensuring the business upholds its commitment to providing a quality service and that it remains knowledgeable on industry matters.

Ted’s eldest son, Simon, joined Chamberlain Transport in 1984. As joint Managing Director with brother Mark, he is responsible for directing and controlling business operations. Simon’s wife Alison joined him in the business in 1997.

Mark joined Chamberlain Transport in 1996, after attaining a Transport and Logistics degree at Loughborough University. With Simon, he gives strategic guidance and direction to ensure the business achieves its objectives and remains at the forefront of the transport industry.

The Transport Association

Sharing best practice lies at the core of The Transport Association and Chamberlain Transport is a keen member of the group. Managing Director Simon Chamberlain has enjoyed a term as Chairman of the trade body and the company is regularly represented at meetings and conferences. The Transport Association was formed in 1955 and is made up of family-owned hauliers. Having contact with other like-minded professionals opens up practical advice and information to overcome challenges.

Palletforce

Chamberlain Transport offers a next day and an economy pallet delivery service through the Palletforce network. This is one of the fastest-growing pallet distribution organisations in the UK. As a member, Chamberlain Transport is supported with investment opportunities from cutting edge IT facilities to staff development schemes. As partners in the Palletforce network, we can fulfil our commitment to working in a reliable, efficient and environmentally-friendly way.

Road Haulage Association

As a member of the RHA, we have access to the most up-to-date training, research and guidance for the haulage industry. In return, we also have the opportunity to provide feedback from the roads to help shape future policies and legislation. Transport experts from the RHA are only a call away, helping us to remain compliant and efficient across the whole of the business. The RHA represents more than 6,000 member companies, operating about 80,000 HGVs.
